FlexRent Travel Website.
FlexRent is a digital platform designed to simplify short-term and flexible accommodation rentals. The goal was to create a seamless and trustworthy booking experience that could compete with established players like Airbnb while offering greater flexibility tailored to modern travelers. The project focused on reducing booking friction, increasing user confidence, and delivering a hotel-like reliability within a peer-to-peer model.

Key Design Decisions
Decision 1 — Show Total Price Upfront
Problem: Users often abandon bookings when hidden fees appear late in the process.
Final Decision: Display total price including fees from the listing stage.
Decision 2 — Simplify Filters Instead of Expanding Them
Problem: Competitor platforms overwhelm users with filters.
Final Decision: Essential filters + intelligent default sorting.

What I Learned
This project reinforced the importance of trust in transactional platforms. I initially focused heavily on feature richness, but research revealed that simplicity and transparency mattered more than additional functionality.
I also learned that competing with established platforms does not mean replicating them — differentiation through clarity and focus can be a stronger strategy.
